Accolade for research paramedics

THE North East Ambulance Service has won an award for its research into one of the deadliest conditions known to man.

It was recently recognised by Swansea University’s TRUST group, which links with UK organisations involved in emergency and trauma care work, after two of its research paramedics published information about sepsis.

Their work to improve knowledge of the condition – caused by the immune system’s response to a serious infection – among health professionals was a category winner at a national conference.
