A CALL for more blood donors has gone out.
NHS Blood and Transplant is reminding people that it only takes an hour to give blood and with the constant demand new and existing donors are vital.
Blood is used in accident and emergency situations, for patients undergoing surgery and for people receiving treatment for cancer and blood diseases.
Donors can be aged between 17 and 65, with no upper age limit for those who have donated in the last two years.
Sessions will take place at Ponteland Memorial Hall in Darras Road on Thursday, November 8, from 1.45pm to 4pm, and 4.45pm to 7pm.
Morpeth’s Storey Park Community Centre will host sessions on Sunday, November 11, from 10.30am to 1pm, and 2.30pm to 5pm.
