COUNCIL staff in Morpeth are receiving a dose of First Aid training to boost their skills.
Northumberland County Council has appointed specialist safety company Premier Corporate Training (PCT) to deliver a range of first aid courses to staff, including in schools and outreach centre depots.
The sessions will cover everything from dealing with life-threatening heart attacks to treating burns and scalds, with interactive demonstrations, real-life props and hands-on learning.
PCT Director Bruce Durham, who is a former RAF serviceman, said: “We want people to realise that health and safety training doesn’t have to be drab and dull — we want to make it accessible and fun, and generate some enthusiasm, as well as teach practical skills.
“We’re looking forward to introducing this concept to council staff in the Morpeth area.”
