Five people from Northumberland have been selected as finalists in the Social Worker of the Year Awards 2015 as a result of their outstanding work.
Adult social care senior managers David Minto and Simon Murray have been shortlisted for the Team Leader of the Year, Adult Services award.
Mr Murray has responsibility for the north and central sections of the county, including Morpeth.
Aissa Rice is in the running for the Newly Qualified Adult Social Worker of the Year award.
The trio work for Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, which delivers adult social care services in Northumberland in partnership with Northumberland County Council.
They join county council children’s services social workers Janice Rainey, a team manager in the Wansbeck and Morpeth areas, and Adam Hall, a team leader in north Northumberland, who have both been shortlisted for the Team Leader of the Year, Children’s Services prize.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London later this month. The top prize is the Overall Social Worker of the Year 2015.
