NORTHUMBERLAND residents can put their name forward for an important role to help shape health services.

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking nominations to its Governors’ Body.

Members who are voted in will represent the views of local people and help build links between the Trust and communities.

There are two vacancies each in the Berwick, Blyth and Wansbeck constituencies and three in Hexham.

Chairman Brian Flood said: “This is an excellent opportunity for people who have an interest in shaping healthcare in Northumberland and North Tyneside to get involved.”

To stand for election, candidates must be registered as a member of the Trust and can put themselves forward or be nominated by another member.

Membership can be completed at the same time as nomination and candidates will be asked to prepare a short election statement describing why they want to be elected.

The closing date for nominations is noon on Wednesday, June 1.

Where contested elections are taking place, members will vote between Thursday, June 23, and Monday, July 18.
