Trust wants new governors

A REGIONAL health organisation is seeking local residents to put themselves forward as a governor.

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, which manages hospitals, community health and adult social care services in the county, is inviting people to apply for the role to help shape local services.

Governors help to develop the trust’s priorities and influence its proposals.

Trust Chairman Brian Flood said: “This is a real opportunity for people who have an interest in health services to truly influence what happens in their community.

“Our governors play an important role in our trust, including being actively involved in our £200million investment to improve healthcare in Northumberland and North Tyneside.”

The trust is one of the top performing in the country, with a budget of around £400million.
