BUILDING society customers in Morpeth have helped to raise £800 for a cancer charity.
The Morpeth branch of Leeds Building Society joined in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning last month in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Customers called into the Bridge Street premises to enjoy a cuppa in return for a donation and in total the society’s branches have raised £800 for the charity.
Morpeth Branch Manager Denise Godwin said: “We were delighted to help Macmillan Cancer Support in its quest to help the 2m people living with cancer in the UK today.
“The money we collected at our coffee morning by raising a smile and enjoying a coffee and cake with customers and colleagues will help bring a good day to those that need vital services and support.”
