A HOMECARE service which helps Ponteland residents has received more than £500 in funding support.

Ponteland Town Council decided to give a grant to Tynedale Hospice at Home after the organisation said that 20 per cent of its nursing care is delivered to people living in the area.

It aims to improve the quality of life for patients who want to remain in their own home and their families by providing palliative nursing care and practical support.

Coun Carl Rawlings proposed a grant of £520 as this would cover two months of its work in Ponteland and this amount was agreed by members of the authority.
