The Morpeth Northumbrian Gathering organisers are hoping to track down family members of two Morpeth musicians from the 1920s.
They would like to invite them to the performance evening next Thursday that will officially launch the Morpeth’s Music fund-raising CD, which features traditional songs and modern tunes.
Tot Garvie and Harry P. Hutchinson wrote a piece called Morpeth Carnival Song in 1928. Members of the Morpeth Antiquarian Society found the sheet music when going through its archives as part of their research for the album.
It was in its cinema section as Morpeth Coliseum was written on the front page of the music.
The song includes references to well-know Morpeth residents and institutions at that time.
Relatives can call Kim Bibby-Wilson on 01670 513308 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
