POLICE have warned people – particularly children – to stay away from the site of a farm fire at Hadston, because of an asbestos risk.
The blaze engulfed a barn on the edge of the village last month, bringing down the roof.
While there were suspicions that it may have been started deliberately, investigators said they were keeping an open mind as to the cause.
At East Chevington Parish Council, PC Paul Dent said the site had been sealed off until a clean-up operation could take place.
He said: “There is no timescale for the clean-up at the moment, but our advice is for people to stay away from the scene because there are large amounts of asbestos there.”
