Lead flashing stolen from Queen's Head in Morpeth

Police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at the Queen's Head in Morpeth.

Officers were called to the premises on Bridge Street, which have been boarded up for a number of months, at 5.17am this morning after reports of intruders.

They searched the vicinity and found that bundles of lead flashing had been removed from the roof and left in the rear yard.

Following inquiries, a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary. He is currently detained in custody.

Officers investigating the incident are making house-to-house inquiries. No entry was gained inside the building.
