LIGHTS: Thanks for event success

On December 6, Longhoughton village held its first Festival of Christmas Lights.

It was an evening of fun, carols, refreshments and, of course, Christmas lights.

The lights committee would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was involved, from our sponsors – Turnbull’s Butchers, Bondgate Surgery, Alnwick Lions, Longhoughton and Boulmer WI, the parish council, Howick Hall and Purvis’ Quarry – to those who took part in our public tree competition – Alexa’s Animals, Longhoughton First School, SSAFA, WI, Purvis’ Quarry.

Special thanks to all our volunteers, especially David Gibson, Bailiffgate Singers and the late Margaret Spence.

Of course, the biggest thanks go to the people of Longhoughton village themselves for participating and making it such a success.

The good news is that we are planning a bigger, better festival for 2016, so please watch out for further information later in the year.

Thanking you all and looking forward to seeing you in December 2016.
