The Vaulkhard Group has taken over the management of a popular Ponteland pub.
An agreement was reached after the North East leisure operator was approached by Heineken brewery, owners of the Diamond Inn, pictured.
As the establishment on Main Street is very well-known and continues to do well, its new management team intends to run it with no immediate changes – although there are plans to invest in an interior refit in mid-2019.
On the same day, the Vaulkhard Group was granted a license to open one of its Barluga branded venues in Gosforth. It is expected to open in spring 2019.
This will be its third Barluga restaurant and bar. The others are in Sanderson Arcade, Morpeth, and on Grey Street in Newcastle.
Ollie Vaulkhard, joint owner and director of the Vaulkhard Group said: “It was a good day for us and we’re proud of our achievements.
“We’re delighted that our reputation and track record helped secure the license for Barluga in Gosforth and the agreement for the Diamond Inn over in Ponteland and we’re excited about welcoming customers into these venues.”
