A GLOSSY guide is now available online to offer a marriage made in Northumberland.
The brochure showcases more than 70 venues across the county, from stately homes and castles to hotels and halls, that have all been approved for civil marriage ceremonies.
The county boasts a dedicated Wedding Ceremonies Co-ordination Team to help with arrangements and provide examples of contemporary and traditional readings and poetry, optional vows and special words.
Registration Services Manager Lorraine Dewison said: “Northumberland is a unique and special county and can offer the perfect place to hold a wedding ceremony.
“The breathtaking countryside, striking coastline and rich cultural heritage is intertwined with beautiful market towns and quaint villages.
“The number of people choosing to get married in Northumberland is increasing every year as more people discover what this amazing part of the country has to offer. This is great news for us because wedding parties have a tremendous impact on the local communities across Northumberland and showcase our towns and villages as tourist destinations.
“Almost 1,500 couples decided to get married here last year, which is why we’re saying a marriage made in Northumberland should be the start of that perfect relationship.”
