People are lighting up Christmas in memory of lost loved ones.
The Morpeth Rotary Club Tree of Light gives people the chance to sponsor a light on the tree in Sanderson Arcade.
A book lists all who have donated and those they have commemorated.
People can give until December 31 and, until then, Rotarians will be manning the tree every day from noon to 2pm.
The proceeds from the project will go to the Alan Shearer Activity Centre, for children with special needs; CHUF, the Children’s Heart Unit at the Freeman Hospital; and CONTACT Mental Health, a local Morpeth charity which operates a drop-in centre.
Last year the Tree of Light made more than £3,000 for charities and has raised more than £500 already this year.
