Mummy returns

MR Mummy is returning to Morpeth to give another entertaining presentation.

Internationally-renowned Egyptologist Dr Bob Brier, based at Long Island University in the USA, will be giving a public lecture entitled The Adventures of Cleopatra’s Needle: Bringing an Obelisk to London.

He has featured in a number of programmes for the Discovery Channel and National Geographic and he was given the ‘Mr Mummy’ nickname after being the first man in 2,000 years to successfully mummify a corpse using the techniques of the ancient Egyptians.

The free lecture will take place today (Thursday) at 5pm in Drama Studio 3, King Edward VI School.

Student members of the KEVI Classics Society will be hosting this event and before he takes to the stage, Dr Brier will film an interview with a panel of student questioners.

Books will be available to purchase and there will be a book-signing after the lecture.
