It comes after students were encouraged to enter a competition, whereby they had to design images for the walls.

The winning students’ designs were sent off to an artist, who has then painted the walls with inspiration from their designs.

There is a 10-metre wall in the Year 6/7 yard and a six-metre facility in the Year 5 yard.

The children are able to use it at break and lunch times as well as it being incorporated into their PE lessons.

Teacher Kimberley Bryce said: “The students have been thrilled so far and have been making their way along each wall, before joining the queue to start again.

“I think the great thing about it is the students have been involved within the whole process, from the initial idea, to the designing of the background and now they are enjoying their work.”

The smart-looking walls feature Amble-themed art, including puffins and boats.
