A COMMUNITY radio station will not receive some financial support from Pegswood Parish Council for the time being.
Bedlington-based Synergy Radio went on the air earlier this year with a 28-day temporary FM licence and it is currently searching for the funding required to cover the next one.
Its broadcasts could be heard in Pegswood and it asked the authority for a donation, but some members were concerned that it is still paying off debts for the previous licence.
The vote was tied at three councillors in favour and three against, with Chairman Peter Stonell, who was opposed to the request, having the casting vote. However, he said that if the station gets funding in place from other sources, the council may reconsider.
