Mr Lloyd died after an accident with a falling tree in Stocksfield in March 2014.

The 42-year-old was flown to the RVI hospital in Newcastle by the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS), but sadly could not be saved.

Last year, Mrs Lloyd organised a party at the Waterford Lodge and did a tandem skydive, both to bring in money for the vital charity.

Another event for GNAAS was recently held at Riverside Lodge in High Stanners and more than £2,000 was raised.

There was live music from The Smokin’ Barrels and DJ Harrison Skinner of Martini Discos also gave up his time for the fund-raiser. A raffle took place and Crazy pix operated a photo booth.

Mrs Lloyd said: “I would say there were around 200 people who attended.

“I didn’t think so many people would turn up as this was the second year but I was amazed at how many arrived, especially in January when people don’t have much spare money.

“More than 20 businesses made a donation for the raffle and I’m very grateful to Dan’s auntie Liz Robinson, Suzie Godfrey, Jason Lloyd (Dan’s brother), Wendy Armsworth, Debbie Hardy and Claire Logan for their help and support in making the night a huge success.

“A very special thanks to Dan and I’s closest of friends, Jackie and Gordon Lennox. They’ve always been there for us and I know Dan would be so proud of how they’ve been there for me and Peter (Mr and Mrs Lloyd’s son, aged seven).

“I am originally from Newcastle but moved to Morpeth in October 1999 and I would not want to live anywhere else. This is my home and I can honestly say that the community are amazing at supporting one another.”
