An estimated 20,000 people went out to watch the Bonfire Night fireworks in Blyth.

Blyth Town Council put on the event, which takes place annually, at the Mermaid car park on the seafront.

“The display is just one of many events provided by Blyth Town Council and we are already looking forward to the next one, which is Blyth's Christmas lights switch on taking place on Friday, November 18.”

The switch on event will feature local craft stalls and live entertainment in the town’s Market Square.

The event will start at 10am with the entertainment, which includes the Bede Academy school choir, Communities Together Choir, and the cast from Jack in the Beanstalk, beginning at 4pm.
