PLASTIC: Supermarkets must do more
With all the concerns around at the moment about plastic waste, I would like to address a problem with the supermarkets.
I recently did my shopping in a local supermarket and having purchased vegetables, discovered that a small swede, costing 40p, was wrapped in cling film, which would have needed a machine using power to wrap this ground vegetable, which already has its wrapper.
There were also plastic bags of carrots and bananas on sale.
Isn’t it time supermarkets did their bit to alleviate the problem?
