Police searching for a missing Northumberland man have found his body.

Officers searching for Jason Creighton made the discovery today (Friday) in Cramlington.

The 36-year-old had last been seen at his home address on Longridge Way in Cramlington at around 9.40am on Wednesday, October 28.

Officers and volunteers have been searching for Jason and his family have made several media appeals since he went missing.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers and paramedics were called at 4.17pm on Friday, November 6, after a man’s body was discovered in a field east of Arcot Hall Golf Course, east of Beacon Lane in Cramlington in Northumberland.

“He was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

“Jason’s family have been informed and his body has now been identified.

“There is believed to be no third party involvement in the death and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

“The media and public are thanked for their assistance throughout the search for Mr Creighton.”
