Prime Minister David Cameron is visiting the Berwick constituency today as the Tories ramp up their campaign to win the seat.
As well as supporting Conservative candidate Anne-Marie Trevelyan’s campaign, Mr Cameron will also be in Stockon-on-Tees offering his support for fellow Tory James Wharton.
He will tell voters the economy is growing and say infrastructure is a priority for the next Government while highlighting the Coalition’s commitment to dual the A1 in Northumberland.
The Prime Minister said: “I’m in Berwick and Stockton today with a clear message. After some long, dark days recovering from Labour’s Great Recession, the sun is starting to shine on the North East again.
“It’s an incredible comeback – with trains being made in County Durham, energy generated off the Northumberland coast, and more cars produced in Sunderland than the whole of Italy. It’s this strong, growing economy which families’ security depends upon.”
