The judging panel for the London Spirits Competition consisted of spirits industry experts with commercial buying responsibility.
Spirits were judged on the basis of three primary criteria – quality, value and packaging – and then scored on a 100-point scale.
Spirits that scored 90+ points were awarded gold medals, while spirits that scored 76 to 89 points were awarded silver medals.

Hide AdSid Patel, CEO of event organiser, Beverage Trade Network, said: “At all the other major competitions, spirits are judged solely on the quality of what’s in the bottle. We wanted to take a different approach, by asking our judges to look at spirits the way spirit drinkers do, adding appearance and value for money into the mix.”
Founded in 2016, Alnwick Gin is a small batch hand-crafted gin that is made in the heart of rural Northumberland.
Renowned for its smoothness and unique taste, it consists of 11 herbs and botanicals and the drinker will savour rosemary, rosehip, lavender and juniper.
