Recruitment drive on way

A North East holiday lettings agency is drawing up expansion plans after seeing a hefty year-on-year rise in trade.

Cottages in Northumberland recorded a 24 per cent increase in business last year, and to help it cope with that growing demand, the company — now with 160 cottages, houses and apartments in its portfolio — has moved to larger premises in Jesmond.

It also plans to recruit extra staff over the coming months.

“Although a high percentage of our lettings are from UK residents, the number of visitors from abroad is on the increase,” said the firm’s director of operations, Angela Mazingham.
