A £150,000 refurbishment and improvement project at the New Life Christian Centre in Morpeth’s Dacre Street has been officially opened by Wansbeck MP Ian Lavery, pictured with Minister Mike Willis.

Essential work has been carried out to repair cracks in the fabric of the Victorian building, new lighting and under floor heating installed, as well as investment in equipment including a high-tech projector, screen and PA system which has transformed the hall.

The hall can now be used for cinema screenings, concerts, community nights and corporate hire as well, of course, as services.

Mr Lavery said: “The work that has been carried out has created a tremendous new facility for the congregation as well as the people of Morpeth to use and enjoy.”
