Regional finalists in the Rural Oscars 2016
The finalists for the North of England in the 2016 Countryside Alliance Awards have been announced, with businesses going head to head for a title and a shot at national glory.
The awards are the Countryside Alliance’s annual celebration of rural produce, skills, enterprise and heritage through our small businesses.

Hide AdKimmerston Riding Centre, to the south of Ford, has been shortlisted in the Farm enterprise category.
Elsewhere in the county, North Acomb Farm Shop, in Bywell, was nominated for the butcher category, while Northumberland Honey & Sovereign Nectar Meadery, in Haltwhistle, is up for the food and drink award.
Countryside Alliance Awards director Jill Grieve said: “This has been a record year for nominations, showing how much the public values and supports our hard-working rural businessmen and women.
“For these finalists to get this far is already an exceptional achievement and I look forward to meeting them as judging gets under way.”
