Road improvements in Morpeth have been welcomed by county council cabinet member Glen Sanderson.
Starting early August, the A196 from Stobhill roundabout past the Coopies Lane junction will receive patching and resurfacing work.
Coun Sanderson, county councillor for the Longhorsley ward that includes Hepscott and part of Stobhill, said: “The road there has been deteriorating for a while, particularly following the extra traffic being brought in to build the South Fields housing development, and I know that local residents will welcome this investment.”
Traffic lights will be in operation while most of the work is taking place, but it is hoped to keep inconvenience to a minimum.
Coun Sanderson added: “It may be a bit of a nuisance while the work is done, but I am pleased that the county council has found the resources to make this repair happen.”
