A week of activities to raise money for Sport Relief was enjoyed by pupils at Grange View Church of England First School in Widdrington Station.

The school council organised it – the activities included skipping, running, bat and ball skills, hula hooping and using the parachute.

On the final day, the children concluded the week by dressing in their sportswear.

Lauren Chapman, literacy, ICT and modern foreign languages subjects leader at Grange View, said: “We are very proud of our pupils’ fund-raising efforts during the week.

“A total of £782 was raised through families sponsoring the children to do daily sport events.”
