Learning support classroom assistant Leanne Baty and nursery assistant Laura Cole took part in the charity’s Pretty Muddy 5k in Newcastle after doing the Race for Life last year.

Once again, Leanne was running in memory of former Morpeth parish priest Father Lawrence Jones and Laura did the event in memory of her mother, Susan.

Leanne wore a Motorhead t-shirt on the day in tribute to frontman Lemmy Kilmister, who died from prostate cancer last December.

She said: “It was a fun event and we highly recommend it. We’re grateful to all those who have made a donation – including last year’s event we’ve now raised more than £1,000 between us.”
