Members of the 6th Morpeth Scout Group got active and did some collecting in aid of a regional charity.

Their Great North Scout Runs in Carlisle Park brought in £185 and the bags of unwanted clothing amounted to 360kg, which converted into £144. Therefore, a total of £329 was raised for the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).

A cheque was recently presented to Patricia Ford, one of its volunteers, and Morpeth Mayor Alison Byard – GNAAS is her nominated charity.

On Saturday, group members will be bag packing at the Morpeth branch of Morrisons to help raise funds for new tents after mice nibbled a few of them.
