The second edition of a new journal which celebrates the central and northern parts of Northumberland, has been published.
Covering the county north of a line between Morpeth and Kielder, The Cheviot is published three times a year. Subtitled A North Northumberland Miscellany, it touches on many less well-known aspects of the region.
It contains 15 articles covering a broad range of subjects including history, landscape, nature, poetry and painting. Author and walker Geoff Holland gives a personal portrait of a lesser-known part of the Cheviots, poet Katrina Porteous reflects on what makes Northumberland special and Claire Hedley explores the shore in a Marine Safari. It costs £4.50 from www.wildsofwanney.co.uk
