A Native Pony Festival near Ponteland is back following a successful inaugural event.

The show is run by a group passionate about native ponies and it is intended to be a fun showcase of the best of these animals in the North East.

The committee is very enthusiastic to be hosting 67 classes, both ridden and in-hand, and also WHP and NPS qualifiers.

In addition, its members have chosen to introduce new classes for amateur ridden and both intermediate and junior WHP.

Event chairman Sara Dowdeswell said: “We have been working hard since last year’s highly successful show to introduce more classes and increase entries.

“We were blessed with such an amazing day in 2014 that we can only get better and bigger and we are so grateful to Mrs Lawson-Croome for her hospitality to host the event on such a great site.”

The Native Pony Festival will take place at Crescent Farm, Throckley, on Sunday, June 28.
