Sign up for Northumberland coast forum

Registration is now open for the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Partnership’s 2015 Annual Forum.

This year’s event is being held at the Hindmarsh Hall in Alnmouth on Friday, November 13. The forum will include a mixture of updates on the work of the AONB Partnership and guest speakers. Speakers will include Andrew Bainbridge, talking about what it means to be a location manager for many of the big movies and dramas set on the Northumberland Coast, and Paul Morrison, who will talk about Coquet Island and the work of the RSPB there.

The event is also the Partnership’s standing tourism forum and they are excited to welcome Richard Hammond, from, who will be unveiling a new Greentraveller Guide for the Northumberland Coast. Susan Briggs will give a lively and challenging presentation about how local distinctiveness and experiences can be used to increase the value of tourism based on her experiences working elsewhere in the UK.

Other speakers are Andrew Best, from Natural England, explaining what the new England Coast Path will mean for Northumberland and Melanie Ashby will talk about her Year in Beadnell.

Coun John Woodman, chairman of the AONB Partnership, said: “This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in the Northumberland coast to come together and contribute towards the work of the AONB Partnership. We will be telling people about the current work of the Partnership and some exciting new projects for the future. We have an excellent range of speakers adding to what I am sure will be an interesting and thought-provoking day”.

Lunch and mid-morning refreshments will be provided. Places cost £10 to cover costs and are limited, so registration is essential.
