A training manager is already a golden girl for her new employer.
For Lyndsey Sherwood is the 50th recruit to join the Newcastle Building Society this year, marking the half-way point of its drive to create 100 new jobs in 2016.
The Widdrington resident has been appointed manager of the service academy team of trainers and coaches at the award-winning Newcastle Strategic Solutions savings management service, ensuring new starters have the skills and knowledge they need to get up to speed with their roles.
Ms Sherwood joins from Cofely GDF Suez, having previously worked for the Leeds Building Society. Prior to moving into financial services she delivered communication and leadership training for Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service.
She said: “When I was researching the society it was obvious that there is a very clear strategic vision for how it is going to develop in the future, as well as a positive, enabling staff culture that appealed greatly to me. I’m already really enjoying my new role.”
Society Chief Executive Andrew Haigh said: “We’re delivering on the investment and recruitment promises that we made at the start of the year, and Lyndsey is an excellent example of the highly skilled people we’re bringing in to ensure we maintain the high quality services both we and our customers expect.”
