Society’s community fund boost for good causes across region

Good causes in Northumberland are set to benefit from the launch of a new community funding approach by Newcastle Building Society (NBS).

Aiming to emulate its level of support for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, it has ambitions to provide grants that will be a big boost to projects in towns and cities across the North East.

The Newcastle Building Society Community Fund, in association with the Community Foundation Tyne & Wear and Northumberland, will provide an on-going source of financial support.

Funds will go to community groups and charities put forward by customers that are based in or near communities served by its 27-strong branch network, including Morpeth and Ponteland.

Six grants with a cumulative value of up to £18,000 will be made available over the next six months.
