WINTER woollies could spread warmth to older people across the county in a new initiative by Age UK Northumberland.
The charity is currently running a Spread the Warmth campaign to help people stay warm and well in the winter months by providing hot, nutritious meals, keeping homes cosy and providing free information and advice.
The campaign will culminate in Bobble Day on Friday, February 10, and individuals, schools and businesses are asked to take part.
They can sell colourful bobble badges or make a donation to wear woollies for the day, from neon leg-warmers to bright jumpers.
There could be a woolly swap, or sponsorship to wear knitwear in an unusual way.
