People who have retired from full-time employment in Morpeth and surrounding villages are being encouraged to start the New Year by joining a thriving organisation.
Morpeth and District U3A has more than 30 activity/interest groups. The aim is to have fun and learn something along the way.
From September to July each year, there is a monthly general meeting with an invited speaker, a small amount of business, tea and biscuits and chat.
Pam Read, leader of the ambling and non-fiction groups, said: “Sharing interests, travel and hobbies with like-minded people has been for me like an epiphany.
“I joined nine groups the first year I joined the U3A and now I have so many friends, interests and seen so many places never before visited that my life has become exciting, amazing and satisfying.”
