MEMBERS of the Morpeth and District Soroptimists were pleased with the success of a fund-raising night in aid of an important support charity.
A Summer Supper at Kirkley Hall brought in more than £800 for Teardrop, which is based at Wansbeck General Hospital.
The 140 guests and club members were joined by a number of local business women. They were invited to link in with Morpeth Soroptimists President Susan Guillain’s theme for her year in the role, Amazing Women.
She said: “I was delighted that our summer charity fund-raising event at Kirkley Hall raised so much money and I would like to thank everyone involved who helped to make the evening such a success.
“Teardrop undertakes a very valuable role and I am pleased that we were able to raise awareness of the work it carries out and all-important funds.”
The charity offers support and advice to bereaved parents and families who have suffered miscarriage, still birth and neonatal death.
