MEMBERS of Kirkley Hall Women’s Institute and their guests made a July visit to Newby Hall near Ripon.
The house has links with the Blackett family of Newcastle and has many interesting rooms linked by unusual staircases.
The members and guests enjoyed a lovely summer lunch before exploring the extensive and delightful grounds.
The weather was warm and sunny, which encouraged the members and guests to stroll around the grounds and hidden gardens.
The Institute has presented a garden seat to Kirkley Hall to commemorate its 50th anniversary. Some members took part in the sand sculpture event at Bamburgh.
Later this month three teams will enter the domino competition.
