The nutritional supplement maker, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, supplied its award-winning products to help Noel Hanna successfully climb the second highest mountain in the world that is located in the Himalayas.

Pharma Nord also provided sponsorship for the 51-year-old’s six-week trek to the 8,611m-high (28,251 ft) summit and back, and it has previously helped him on a series of successful climbs across the globe over the past nine years.

Noel has reached the top of the world’s highest mountain, Everest, eight times between 2006 and 2016, but he said K2 “was the hardest climb I’ve done because it’s a lot steeper and a lot more technical than Everest”.

He added: “It was a great feeling to reach the top, although I still had to be careful as more people die coming down from the summit than going up.

“K2 is almost like Everest in that there is only 25 to 30 per cent of the normal oxygen near the peak. This makes it very challenging on the body, so any extra help you can get is invaluable.

“I first came across Pharma Nord supplements in 2009 and I’ve been taking them ever since. I really believe in them – they really help me to do what I do.”

As well as the supplements during training, Noel took Pharma Nord’s Bio-Quinone Q10 and Bio-Biloba along with him to take throughout the expedition.

Managing director Bent Henriksen congratulated Noel for his achievement and said he is glad the supplements helped him during the trek.
