Lucy Nevens, James Newman, Isabella Redmayne and Rebecca Storer are going to attend the Global Young Leaders Conference in New York and Washington DC – they fly out later this month.

They will follow in the footsteps of five current and former King Edward VI School pupils, who said being part of the initiative organised by Envision was a great experience.

It invites young people to explore cultural differences, gain first-hand exposure to the challenges of international diplomacy, build confidence and enhance decision-making skills in an atmosphere of mutual respect.

Nominator Victoria Najafi, Student Voice, leadership and enrichment co-ordinator at KEVI, said: “I am delighted that once again we will have students attending the Global Young Leaders Conference.

“Those from our school who have participated in previous conferences have all returned full of confidence, with an increased knowledge of world affairs and excellent public speaking and leadership skills.”

She also thanked Simon Walker, owner of The Flagman, for loaning one of his USA flags for the picture.
