Time is captured for the future at housing site
A future generation will learn about what Morpeth was like in 2016 thanks to a group of pupils.
Children from Chantry Middle School and Technology College recently visited Barratt Homes North East’s South Fields development on the edge of the town to bury a time capsule.
They spent a few weeks drawing pictures and collecting photographs, as well as writing about the features of their area, to give a piece of history to whoever finds it in the future.
Head of school Steven Johnson said: “The children felt very privileged to be asked to contribute to the time capsule buried at South Fields.
“They really enjoyed collecting the items and photographs and writing about the area.”
