A Ponteland teenager performed extremely well in his GCSE exams.
Robert Redman, a pupil at Dame Allan’s Schools in Newcastle, pictured, scored straight 7-9 gradings in the reformed qualifications – equivalent of the old A-A*.
He will do A-Levels in politics, economics and maths at Dame Allan’s Sixth Form.
“I’m really pleased with the results, all the hard work has paid off and I’m very happy,” he said.
Students up and down the country faced an anxious wait about the outcome of the results in the first year since the grading system changed, but results are slightly up on last year throughout the North East.
Dr John Hind, principal at Dame Allan’s Schools, said: “The fantastic results are testament to the hard work put in by the students and staff over the course of the past two years.
“We are proud of all of our students and we are delighted that they have got the results their efforts merit.”
