Collingwood School and Media Arts College in Morpeth has received the prestigious Artsmark Gold accolade.

Artsmark is Arts Council England’s awards scheme for schools that champion and embrace the arts across the curriculum.

Rachel Benson, director of specialism at Collingwood, said: “We are extremely proud of achieving this award.

“We are committed to delivering a high-quality art and culture education and we look forward to continuing to grow with Artsmark.

“We have been extremely privileged to work with partners Mortal Fools – a theatre, drama and creative learning company – for the last four years.

“This partnership has enriched and formed our journey, providing a depth of experience for our young people that is life-changing.”

The school was supported by Culture Bridge North East in planning and developing its Artsmark objectives and Culture Bridge North East worked alongside the school at various stages in the process.
