MORPETH was the star of the airwaves when a regional radio station paid a visit on Monday.
The Real Radio Breakfast Show with Gary and Lisa is currently out and about on its latest North East tour, and the presenters were very impressed with what they saw and their reception in the town.
The morning programme, which was broadcast live from the Real Radio campervan in the Market Place, included learning how to play the Northumbrian Pipes with support from local players and staff from Morpeth Chantry.
A message posted by the duo said: “We have had a lovely time in Morpeth this morning. The weather was lovely but the people were lovelier.
“Davey the taxi driver was unlucky on the 815 Vending Machine, but was happy to walk away with his Double Decker, while Gary’s attempt at the Northumbrian Pipes was laughable.”
