Travellers get top tips on rail tickets

TOP tips on rail tickets will be given in an open meeting next week.

The South East Northumberland Rail User Group (SENRUG) will welcome Chester-le-Track founder Alex Nelson as guest speaker to the session at Morpeth Town Hall.

Mr Nelson operates his ticket-selling business from the former derelict station at Chester-le-Street, as well as online, and has discovered many ways of saving money when booking rail tickets.

He will pass on his findings, unravel rail-ticketing myths and discuss the Railroute project, which has produced the first diagrammatic map of the national rail network. There will also be a question-and-answer session.

The meeting takes place on Tuesday at 7.30pm.
