Troops celebrate festive period

Troops from the 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers took part in a Christmas weekend of activities.

The Fifth Fusiliers are a North-East based infantry unit with a footprint of 178 miles from Berwick in the north to Doncaster in the south, with Z Company training at Alnwick.

The event was attended by all parts of the Battalion and the weekend consisted of sport challenges and a stretcher race, pictured above.

This was followed by Christmas dinner, which saw the traditional routine of the troops being served by the Officers and Seniors. The Fusiliers Band played and the Chefs produced a fantastic festive spread.

Later that night, all enjoyed a band and a comedian in the NAFFI. The turnout was high.
