Typhoon cash put to use

A MORPETH community group has heard how it is helping to save lives in the Philippines.

Last week, the Herald reported that Morpeth Lions Club had donated £500 to help after Typhoon Haiyan.

Now it has learnt that its donation will go towards a £200,000 target for Lions branches in Britain and Ireland to buy 1,000 water filtration systems to provide clean drinking water.
