Elderly people are being invited to the third Ponteland Step into Spring event on Saturday.
This is a morning aimed at those over 55, who can find out what is going on in their area and about service providers.
Refreshments are available on the day and there will be opportunities to try out activities at the event, which is being organised by Ageing Well in Ponteland together with Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, and is supported by local organisations.
Those who attend will be able to find out about social activities and exercise classes in the Ponteland area and organisations will be on hand to talk about their support services.
Ponteland Ageing Well chairman Brian Prickett said: “The event last year was very successful. Well over 100 people attended and many of them found new activities to join, opportunities for volunteering or, for those that needed it, help and support.
“This is our third year and we have a large range of opportunities on offer.”
The county-wide programme, which was initiated by Ponteland councillor Veronica Jones, has been recognised nationally.
The hopper bus will be available to take residents to the event and back home again. Call Adapt on 07768 467334 to book your place.
